Monsoon Session 2010 of Parliament to Commence from 26th of July 2010 36 Legislations Scheduled for 24 Sittings during The Session

The Monsoon Session, 2010 of Parliament (5th Session of Fifteenth Lok Sabha and the 220th Session of the Rajya Sabha) is scheduled to commence on Monday, the 26th of July, 2010 and subject to exigencies of Government Business, the Session will conclude on Friday, the 27th of August, 2010.  The Session will provide 24 sittings spread over a period of 33 days.

The Session will mainly be devoted to essential Government legislative and other business, including financial business relating to Supplementary Demands for Grants for the year 2010-11 in respect of Railway and General Budgets and Supplementary Demands for Grants of the State of Jharkhand for the year 2010-11.

To finalise the Government Business for the Monsoon Session, 2010, the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal took a meeting with the Secretaries/Senior Officers of the various Ministries/Departments on Tuesday, the 20th of July, 2010.

Addressing the media today the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, alongwith his ministerial colleagues Sh. Prithviraj Chavan and Sh.V. Narayanasamy, informed that the following Business is likely to be taken up during the 5th Session of Fifteenth Lok Sabha and the 220th Session of Rajya Sabha:-
