Heat wave conditions are prevailing over some places over East Rajasthan and Delhi and isolated pockets over West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh. According to India Meteorological Department, the highest maximum temperature of 46.5° C was recorded at Agra (Uttar Pradesh).A Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) Guidance suggests a low pressure area likely to form over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood and move in a northwesterly direction.

A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan region from tomorrow onwards.

Major features of weather forecast till 26th of this month suggests Fairly widespread rain in southern parts of the country and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal& Sikkim. Widespread rain or thundershowers would occur over Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Scattered rainfall would over Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal during next 24 hours. Widespread rainfall would also occur over northeastern states.

Isolated rainfall over central and rest Peninsular India during next 48 hours.Isolated rain/thundershowers would occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during next 24 hours and increase thereafter.

Scattered rain/thundershowers would occur over Uttrakhand during next 24 hours and increase thereafter.

Isolated rain/thunderstorms would occur over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh and west Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours and increase thereafter. Fall in maximum temperatures is also expected by 2-3°C over northwest and adjoining central India during next 2-3 days. cfginvc
