Martyrs of Freedom moment remembered  and recognised the commendable work of Corona warriors

NDMC Chairperson unfurled National Flag at NDMC headquarter

To mark the 74th Anniversary of Independence Day of India, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson, Shri Dharmendra unfurled the National Flag in the premises of NDMC headquarter - Palika Kendra at a simple and well attended function today.

While paying his glowing tributes in the memory of the great freedom fighters and Jawans of Army and Paramilitary Forces who had laid their lives for the freedom of the nation and protecting the boundaries of our countries from the enemy, the Chairperson-NDMC said that we should take pledge to protect and safeguard the hard earned freedom of our nation and to work hard to strengthening the democracy and bringing prosperity.

In his address, Shri Dharmendra recognised and appreciated the commendable work of Corona Warriors of NDMC like Doctors, Health Workers, Sanitation staff and other officials, who devoted their duties for curbing the outbreak of corona pandemic since the start of this year. He said that as a civic body to deliver all essential services to the inhabitants of New Delhi area during the lockdown period, our corona warriors performed their duty in appropriate manner and credit of it goes to all ranks of NDMC, he added.

He paid the tribute to the NDMC corona warriors who sacrificed their lives while doing their duty for delivering the uninterrupted essential services to the citizens of New Delhi area and said that everyone should come forward to re-dedicate himself with the sense of devotion, zeal and spirit to do their work to fight against Corona pandemic.    

Calling upon the team NDMC, he said that we should perform our duty with a sense of dedication in a simple, effective, efficient and transparent manner by using the latest technology at every stage so as to attain the self-reliance by our limited resources for maximum output and added that special attention should be made towards the call of our Prime Minister – “Aatamnirbhar Bharat” to make it all success in all work areas of NDMC.

Before unfurling the National Flag, the Security and Fire Personnel of the Council gave guard of honour to the Chairperson-NDMC.

The 2000 National flags had been displayed at the electric poles and 24 locations along roadsides decorated with the floral boards in the New Delhi area by NDMC.

On the occasion, corona warriors, doctors, health workers, sanitation staff are specially invited by the Chairman, NDMC.

Besides Secretary-NDMC, Shri Amit Singla and other Senior Officers of NDMC also participated in Independence Day celebration.
