Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat garlanded the statue of Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya on his 157 birth anniversary at Hindu National College at Kanwali Road on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya was the only person who was honoured with the title of ‘Mahamana’. He was a renowned scholar of Sanskrit language and working hard was the aim of his life. He worked tirelessly for the freedom of the country. Through making efforts in journalism, legal profession and social reforms, he inspired the youth to participate in the freedom struggle of the country.
He said that Malviya ji established Banaras Hindu University. Chief Minister further said that Malviya ji who dedicated his life for his mother tongue and serving the nation, set up Banaras Hindu University to educate the youth and to prepare them the service of the country. He said that the sacrifice and penance of Malviya Ji was important in the freedom of the country.
On this occasion, president of Dehradun Mahamana Mission Dr Shrikant Chandola, Balkrishan Jaiswal, Anil goyal, Vidhu Gairole and other were present.
