Mahanagar gas working towards ending long witing queues outside cng gas filling stations in mumbai

Mahanagar Gas Limited ((MGL) , one of the major gas distribution company in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR)  in it’s bid to end long waiting vehicle queues outside Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Filling stations in the city will soon start pre-booking of time slot for refuelling CNG gas for benefit of consumers ,where a customer can book a particular time and get his vehicle refuelled without wait from the  CNG filling station.

“We initially plan to start the pre-booking CNG service to end  long wait for refuelling at 20 CNG filling stations in Mumbai where a customer can pre book time slot for booking at Mahanagar Gas portal and can get his vehicle refuelled at the appointed time without wait. This initiative will help end long queues at CNG filling stations” said Mr Rajiv Mathur, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas limited while speaking at   Panel Discussion on “Sustainable Ecosystem” organised by Outokumpu India at the ongoing Three day  Oil and Gas World Expo 2018 here late last evening .

“ Mahanagar gas is also planning to start mobile CNG gas filling service soon to further end long waiting period at CNG filling stations and provide door step service  . A Mobile CNG filling station will go to Bus and Taxi service hubs to fill the CNG in vehicles on the spot.  The MGL at present has about 200 CNG filling stations and plan to add more as number of CNG fitted vehicles is increasing every day.    “ said Mr Mathur.

“The city gas service at apart from CNG also provides piped cooking gas in the Mumbai metropolitan region and has 5000 kilometres of pipeline and continuing to add more to  connect the whole of Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Raigad to our network. At present we can reach any household for new connection by laying pipeline of 100 to 150 meters from the main pipeline . As piped gas is much cheaper than LPG cylinder’s more people are opting for piped gas  “ said Mr Mathur

“MGL’s authorised areas of operation include the adjacent municipalities Kalyan, Dombivali, Ambernath, Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Bhiwandi Panvel, Taloja and Kharghar, which between them are home to almost two crore people, MGL also has plans to develop its networks in a few more cities in the near future “ he said .
