The Vice President of India Shari M. Hamid Ansari met the Tableau artists and Tribal guests who participated in the Republic Day parade this year at his residence here today. These artists presented a colourful display of the folk dances of the different parts of India at the lawns of the Vice President’s house. The Vice President accompanied by his wife Smt. Salma Ansari interacted with these artists groups and Tribal guests and applauded them for their creative presentations.
The Tableau artists and Tribal guests performed their special dances viz. artists from Jammu & Kashmir artists performed Bumro Folk dance, Rajasthan artists performed Ghoomer dance, Maharashtra artists performed Tarpa dance, Assam artists performed Bhor Pal dance, Chattisgarh artists performed Karma dance and West Bengal artists performed Rabindra Nritya dance on the occasion. The artists of Ministry of Tribal Affairs presented Gaur dance and the artists of Ministry of Railways presented Panjabi Visa dance.
