Social Welfare and Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil said the Himachal Pradesh Minority Finance and Development Corporation (HPMF&DC) had so far distributed loans worth Rs. 5.24 crores to the beneficiaries during present financial year.

He was presiding over the 39th meeting of Himachal Pradesh Minority Finance and Development Corporation here, today.

Dr. Shandil said that the corporation distributed loans of Rs. 29.85 crores to 2111 people of minority families and Rs. 24.27 crore to 1255 handicapped to start their self-avenues. He said the corporation also distributed loans amounting to Rs. 2.80 crores to 86 people of minority families and Rs. 2.45 crores to 62 people with physical disabilities during this period.

The Minister said under educational loan scheme, financial assistance of rupees two lakhs to 15 lakhs at the interest rate of only three percent was being given to the youth between the age group of 16 to 32 years of minority families to enable them to undergo technical and vocational education.

He urged the beneficiaries to take maximum benefit of various schemes of the corporation.

Members of BoD Shri Ashok Messy and Shri Sandeep Bhatnagar, special secretary finance Shri Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director, HPMF&DC Shri C.S Singh were also present in the meeting.
