Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation
stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 42.32 crore during one day
tour to Pachhad assembly constituency of Sirmaur district.

While addressing a largely attended public meeting at Sarahan, Chief
Minister said that it was due to the wholehearted support of the
people of the State that the BJP succeeded in winning all the four
parliamentary seats of the State with record margin. He said that the
Himachal Pradesh ensured that the vote percentage of the BJP
candidates was highest in the country. The BJP candidate from Kangra
Parliamentary seat got record share of 72 percent votes out of the
total votes polled, he added.

The Chief Minister said that several schemes launched by the State
Government has succeeded in bringing a sea change into the lives of
the common man. He said that the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi has ensured that India emerges as the World Power. He
said that it was due to the political will power of the Prime Minister
that today with the scrapping of Article 370, the Nation now has one
“Vidhan”, One “Nishan” and one “Savindhan”. He said that this has
ensured one Nation and one Constitution, which was possible only due
to Narendra Modi.

Jai Ram Thakur said that development works worth Rs. 152 crore were
going on in Pachhad Vidhan Sabha area in Public Works sector alone,
which shows the commitment of the Government for the development of
the area. He urged the people of the area for giving whole hearted
support to the State Government and strengthen his hands. He said that
his sole aim was to ensure balanced and equitable development of the
State and the mandate of the people during the recently concluded Lok
Sabha election in favour of the BJP, vindicated the fact that people
were for development.

Chief Minister said that the State Government has sanctioned Rs. 45.80
crores for Chailla-Neripul Yashwantnagar-Kumarhatti Road under Output
and Performance Bases Maintenance Contract (OPBMC). He also announced
construction of three additional sets in PWD Rest House at Sarahan.

The Chief Minister announced opening of PWD division at Sarahan and
PWD sub-division at Gagalskoh. He announced opening of BMO office at
Rajgarh, IPH sub-division at Narag, ITI at Kotipadhog, PHC at Dagyar
and Jaihar. Chief Minister also announced veterinary hospital at
Mached and Naina Tikkar. He also announced starting of science classes
in Government Senior Secondary School Diggal.  He also announced
providing Rs. 70 lakh for various roads in the area. He announced
upgradation of Government High School Sirmauri Mandir and Gadolpirag.
He also announced science classes in Government Senior Secondary
School Basan.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated office of SDM Pachhad at
Sarahan, Sikken Dingr Kinner Bhaghyandhat road constructed at a cost
of Rs. 4. 81 crore, Matelling and tarring of Chourighat-Sarsoo road
done by spending Rs. 3.88 crore and Lift Irrigation Scheme Odour Pudla
on which Rs.1.51 crore was spent.

Chief Minister laid foundation stones of widening and CD/MT of link
road to Bhureshwar Mahadev temple road to be done by spending Rs. 1.58
crore, Thani Tammani to Tindu Khamru road to be constructed at a cost
of Rs. 5.75 crore, Khanotyo to Basall road to be built at a cost of
Rs. 11.89 crore, Gaithal Bhajed Mandikharan road on which Rs. 6.49
crore to be spent, Kalyan Bhawan, Pachhad at Sarahan to be constructed
at a cost of Rs. 1.94 crore, LWSS to left out habitation of Kujji
Basti and its adjoining habitation G.P. Dilman to be built by spending
Rs. 81 lakh,  LWSS Shariya Masriya in GP Shariya to be constructed by
incurring Rs. 51 lakh, LWSS to village Sikken, GP Dhar Tikri to be
constructed with an outlay of Rs. 24 lakh and expansion of Sub Market
Yard at Sarahan to be made by incurring Rs. 2.91 crore.

Chief Minister also launched the poster based on “Poshan Month”
brought out by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, to kick
start “Poshan Mah” for the State and provided “Ann Prashan” to six
babies. He also provided Smart Phones to Anganbari Workers.

Several cultural, political and social organisations felicitated on
the Chief Minister of the occasion.

Speaker State Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that during the ten
tours of the Chief Minister to Sirmour district, Chief Minister has
provided developmental projects worth crores of Rupees to the
district. He said that it was probably for the first time that on the
day of inauguration of SDM office, the new SDM also assumed office,
this shows the commitment of the Chief Minister for development of the
area.

Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap while welcoming the Chief Minister
said that the opening of SDM office in Sarahan would facilitate the
people of Pachhad constituency. He also thanked the Chief Minister for
dedicating developmental projects worth crores of Rupees in the area.
He also detailed various developmental demands of the area. He said
that it was due to the blessings of the Chief Minister that he could
be the part of the House that took historic decision of scraping
Article 370 and 35A.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal thanked the
Chief Minister for giving boost to the pace of development in Sirmour
district. He said that the very first decision of the State Government
was aimed at upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. He said that the
Government lowered the age limit for availing the benefits of old age
pension from 80 to 70 years, thereby benefitting lakhs of old people
of the State.

MLA Poanta Sahib Sukh Ram Chaudhary said that Sirmour district has
witnessed unprecedented development during the last about twenty
months. He also thanked the Chief Minister for being considerate
towards the developmental demands of the area.

Chairman State Agriculture Marketing Board Baldev Bhandari welcomed
the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He
thanked the Chief Minister for inaugurating SDM office in Sarahan,
which has fulfilled the long pending demand of the area.

Chairman HP Khadi Board Purushottam Guleria, Vice Chairman State Civil
Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar, President Sirmour District BJP
Vinay Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Sirmour and others were present on
the occasion among others.
