In the scriptures, each full moon has its own importance. But the full moon date of Kartik month has a different significance. Kartik month is considered to be the best of all the months. According to mythological belief, Shri Hari Vishnu took the Matsya avatar in this month. This year Kartik Purnima fast will be kept on 8th November 2022.

It is believed that bathing and donating in the holy river on this day gives the same result as worshiping for the whole month. According to Sikhism, Kartik Purnima is also celebrated as Guru Nanak Jayanti. According to the scriptures, on doing some special work on the day of Kartik Purnima, Goddess Lakshmi is very pleased and there is never any shortage of money and grains in the life of the person. It is believed that if some of these special measures are taken, then wealth and food remain in the house and never have to face any financial loss in life. Good luck is attained by taking Kusha bath in Ganga-Yamuna on the day of Kartik Purnima. Take a kusha in hand and take a bath in the holy river and make donations. It is believed that doing so leads to healing.

For the entry of Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Kartik Purnima, make a swastika with turmeric mixed water at the main entrance of the house. Along with this, put a pylon of mango leaves. By doing this, Mata Lakshmi enters the house.
On the day of Kartik Purnima, one gets the blessings of the deities by lighting a lamp and donating a lamp at the Ganges Ghat or the ghat of any holy river. Along with this, happiness and prosperity comes in the house.
On the day of Kartik Purnima, lighting a lamp near Tulsi, applying tilak of the soil of its root gives success in every task.
