Dr. Kiran Bedi, 1st Women IPS Officer of India today launched a special scholarship scheme for girl students at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. Mr M K Sharma, GM, Dena Bank was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges presided over the event.
Aryans association with Kiran Bedi has entered in 5th year. On this occasion, Aryans has decided to give scholarship to 25 meritorious girls. As per the scheme, 5 girls having more than 90% marks in 10th/10+2 would get 100% Scholarship, whereas for 20 girls having more than 75%, half of the fee will be waived off and the other half will be financed in shape of Education Loan by Dena Bank. Kiran Bedi also launched a Toll Free Number 1800-30000-388 where students can get registered.
Dr Kiran Bedi visited 3 different Aryans functions. She addressed over thousand students in Ambala at Lord Mahavir Jain Public School in the morning. Then she addressed around 5000 students at Aryans campus in the afternoon where she also distributed scholarship letters to few meritorious students selected under various schemes. She also addressed the eminent personalities of Chandigarh and Media at PHD Chamber, Chandigarh later on.
Dr Kiran Bedi said that “I am pleased that my association with Aryans has entered into 5th year. Aryans has fulfilled all of its commitments in last 4 years. Now Aryans is launching a project especially for girls. And my full support is with Aryans for this project.”
She further said that she is pleased to know that out of the MBA/BBA students she selected 4 years back, some are doing jobs and some are doing Post Graduation at Aryans themselves without putting burden on their parents.
Mr M K Sharma said that Dena Bank will provide every possible help to the selected girls. These students will be given Education Loans at a very low rate of interest.
Dr Anshu Kataria while giving more details about the scheme said that any Indian student can apply for this scheme. He said that as maximum as possible students should apply for this scheme. The entire selection procedure would be completed in one month.
While addressing the Aryans students, Dr Bedi said that the existing students should help other needy students after completing their studies.
