Kejriwal is now trying to sell Delhi and Punjab models in Gujarat too. Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal has promised that if his party comes to power in the assembly elections to be held in Gujarat this year, then the old pension scheme for government employees will be implemented here as in Punjab.
Kejriwal said Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued an order to consider the implementation of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the AAP-ruled state of Punjab.
Kejriwal told reporters, “Gujarat has a large number of government employees on the streets. Their main demand is to implement the old pension scheme. I give them a guarantee that when Aam Aadmi Party forms the government, we will implement OPS in Gujarat.
Kejriwal is in Vadodara to address a meeting as part of a campaign to reach out to various sections of the society ahead of the assembly elections.
Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal said, ‘Like Punjab, we will implement OPS in Gujarat too’. Kejriwal asked the protesting employees of the state government to continue their agitation. He said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party government implements OPS, it is fine and if not, then after two months his party will implement it, when the current government is changed.
Kejriwal said that state government employees play a big role in choosing or removing a government. He called upon the people to promote AAP and work to remove the ruling BJP government in Gujarat for the last 27 years. PLC/GT
