Kamal Nath Takes Charge as the new Minister of Parliamentary Affairs
Kamal Nath, Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs took charge of his new assignment as Parliamentary Affairs Minister from Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal in Parliament House in New Delhi today. Following the Cabinet reshuffle on Sunday 28th October, the new Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shri Kamal Nath, also being the Union Minister of Urban Development brings with him a rich political experience and acumen. Speaking to media persons on assuming charge, he said that he will attempt to bring consensus among all political parties on national policies that are formed in the National Interest that is dear to all parties. Answering queries from the media persons how he intends to face the challenge of running a smooth winter session starting next month, the Minister highlighted the prominence of the Parliament in the democratic system of the country and expressed desire that all political parties will discuss and debate the issues of national interest without resorting to politics of disruption rising above narrow political interests. He later held a meeting with the Ministers of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Shri Paban Singh Ghatowar and Shri Rajeev Shukla, Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs Shri Desh Deepak Verma and ministry officials to review and plan the working of the Ministry.
