Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is Uttarakhand’s cultural and religious yatra : Harish Rawat

Dehli, The Chief Minister Harish Rawat met the Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj at the Sansad Bhavan today. He apprised her about the problems related to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The CM Harish Rawat said that this yatra is Uttarakhand’s cultural and religious yatra.
It is believed that Lord Shiva had taken this route to come and get married to the Goddess Nanda Devi. Thus the yatra was commenced to mark this. He stated that the duration of Mansarovar Yatra is being reduced by 4-6 days and trekking route will be lessened. Tourists will be able to travel by jeep on the two new roads being constructed. He stated that in near future, if the need be Heli service will also be provided during rains. A project plan is being prepared for this. Besides this, Uttarakhand government is also preparing a new scheme. He said that aerial services will soon begin in Pitthoragarh. He added that if the central government gives subsidy in the fares then they can give tourists a better alternative from Nathula. Under this, pilgrimage will be conducted on helicopter from Pitthoragarh to Nabhidhang. The Uttrakhand government is working on several alternatives. The CM Harish Rawat said that the government is dedicated to conserve its cultural heritage. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra marg is a historical route. He has requested Sushma Swaraj to organize the Mansarovar Yatra from Uttarakhand itself.
