There is no doubt that the jute products has had been played a vital role in our everyday lives, so we have to pay more attention to this natural fiber, which is 100 percent environmental friendly. And most importantly, the jute is the second most important fiber after the cotton which endears to both households and office use not only at national level but also international market as well.

This has been observed by Lt.General (Rtd.), Zameer Uddin Shah, Former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, while speaking after inaugurating the Jute Fair and Food Festival at State Emporia Complex, opposite Hanuman Mandir at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in New Delhi today.  

On the occasion Secretary-NDMC, Smt.Rashmi Singh said that the fair has been organized by Women’s Moksha an NGO in collaboration with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with the aim to empower the Women folk and the Artisans.

The NGO and the NDMC had also provided the platform by organizing the food festival to the visitors in order to enjoy the various most mouthwatering delicious and cuisines, she added.

Besides Ex-Vice Chairman-NDRF, Shri K.M.Singh was also present with the Artisans came from the remote and remotest villages of India on this occasion.
