ITBP has an unbreakable relationship with Uttarakhand

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Gambhir Singh Chauhan, DIG and Principal, Mountaineering and Skiing Institute, ITBP, Auli had a detailed discussion on the issue of land allocation for opening of Adventure Sports Institute by Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) near Tehri lake, at Chief Minister’s residenceon Saturday.

Mr. Gambhir Singh Chauhan, DIG and Principal, Mountaineering and Skiing Institute, ITBP, Auli said that ITBP has an unbreakable relationship with Uttarakhand and ITBP has made a special place for itself in adventure sports. He said that Mountaineering and Skiing Institute, ITBP, Auli, Joshimath has been giving training to security agencies and police in risky and adventure sports like mountaineering, skiing, rafting and rock climbing. Mr. Gambhir Singh Chauhan said that with the opening of Adventure Sports Institute near Tehri lake, tourism will get a fillip and locals will also get more employment opportunities. During the time of natural disasters, the local administration will also get help in rescue related works from the institute. This would also encourage youth of the area towards joining ITBP and participating in adventure sports activities.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat instructed the District Magistrate Tehri on telephone to do the necessary action in this regard. He also assured the ITBP of all possible positive support from the state government in this venture.
