International Conference on Human Behaviour and Development Issues concluded

Amity Institute of Behavioral and Allied Sciences (AIBAS), Amity University Lucknow Campus organized two day international conference on Human Behavior and Development Issues” (ICHBDI) concluded today on a positive note to make the society happier than ever. This interdisciplinary conference has witnessed participants across the globe such as Hungary, Scottland, Sri Lanka, Germany, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Canada and 150 brilliant delegates across India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Delhi, Allahabad, Aligarh, Punjab, Bihar,  Haryana,  Banaras,  Mysore to name a few. The theme of the event was Growth and Sustainability and to address this theme, eminent academicians, delegates, scholars, speakers and other dignitaries presented their research papers, had fruitful and paramount discussions in symposia and scientific sessions on the concluding day. The various sub themes addressed in scientific sessions and symposia were- New Intervention in promoting mental health, Mind and body harmonized: Path to sustainable wellbeing, Human behavior and development Issues and Cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Today Mr. Amitabh Thakur, IG, Lucknow, Prof. Nasreen Wadud, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Dr. U.K. Mishra, Head, Department of Neurology, SGPGI, Lucknow, Dr. Piyali Bhattacharya, Pediatric Surgeon, SGPGI, Dr. Yogesh Verma, Practioner, NLP of Hypnotherapy, Dr. Anupam Pandey. St. Mary’s University, Mr. G.B. Patnaik, former VC Lucknow, Prof. Akbar Husain, Aligarh Muslim University, University, Prof. Nasreen Wadud, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Prof. Namita Pandey, Department of Psychology, Allahabad University and Prof. Hitesh Khurrana, Professor, Psychiatry, Institute of Mental Health, Institute of Health Sciences, Haryana, Rohtak   graced the conference with their presence and thoughts. Pro VC Amity University Lucknow Campus Maj. Gen. KK Ohri (AVSM) Retd. welcomed all the guests and dignitaries. Mr. Amitabh Thakur, IG, Lucknow emphasized on the fact that there is an urgent need of psychological constructs in training of Police Personnel. As he believed variables like job satisfaction, job performance, affective commitment have a mediating variable in emotional regulation, leadership and human resource practices among police person. Dr. U.K. Mishra, Head, Department of Neurology, SGPGI, Lucknow showed how complexity of brain develops with complexity of environment and emphasized on the fact that how perception of beauty and music give rise to positive hormones of the brain and change the states of mind and how it functions in conjunction with affective states and helps in survival in mankind Dr. Piyali Bhattacharya, Pediatric Surgeon, SGPGI spoke on importance of trilogue among psychologists, parents and doctors for treatment of children. Dr. Yogesh Verma, Practioner, NLP of Hypnotherapy emphasized on the importance of programming of mind through language. Prof. Nasreen Wadud, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh highlighted vitality and learning as two components for sustainable performance management. Prof. Hitesh Khurrana, Professor, Psychiatry, Institute of Mental Health, Institute of Health Sciences, Haryana, Rohtak proposed a link between music, emotions and well being. He further provided an evidence for neural circuitry involved in ability of music to modulate and well being. Prof. Manju Agarwal, Director, AIBAS, showed a video on synaptic connections being developed as mood and habit changes emphasizing development of neural pathways by emotional states and behavior. Dr. Girish Gupta, Senior Doctor (Homeopathy) said that he provides treatment for the physical ailments on the basis of psychological reasons behind. He gave studies on how he treated psoriasis, PCODs and other diseases by focusing treatment for psychological reasons behind it. Prof. Namita Pandey, Department of Psychology, Allahabad University stressed upon the effectiveness of “Visualization” as a therapy in healing and promotion of mental health. Prof. Akbar Husain, Aligarh Muslim University highlighted the role of spirituality in growth and sustained development. Dr. Anupam Pandey. St. Mary’s University tackled the issue of women through Amartya Sen’s thesis and proposed changes in state legislation in regard of women empowerment. All dignitaries, academicians and eminent scholars advocated that there is an urgent need for psychologist to be a part of every field for enhancing the humanizing factor in all the endeavors. In addition to it, “Appreciation award” was given in each scientific session for the best research paper.
