Download now for free from the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store .

Threads is a new app launched by Meta, the company headed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg. It was developed by the Instagram team and is a text-based social media platform similar to Twitter. The app has gained significant popularity, with 2 million downloads within just two hours of its launch.

To use Threads, you can download it from either the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store for free. If your Instagram account is already verified with a blue tick, your Threads account will be automatically verified as well. You can log in to Threads using your Instagram ID.

Once you’re logged in, using Threads is quite straightforward, especially if you’re familiar with Twitter. You can post up to 500 characters in a single thread, which can include web links, photos (up to 10 at a time), and videos of up to one minute in length. Similar to Twitter, you can follow and block other users on Threads. If you have blocked someone on Instagram, they will also be blocked on Threads.

It’s important to note that currently, Threads does not support GIFs or the “close friend” feature found on Instagram. Additionally, direct messaging is not available in the app at the moment.

Overall, Threads provides a platform for text-based social media sharing, similar to Twitter but with some unique features and interface elements.
