Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has accorded approval to the facilities/benefits to be extended to children of Tibetan refugees while framing the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy in the State.
While stating this here today, Haryana Education Minister, Mr Kanwar Pal said that Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy in the State is to be framed on the lines of Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
He said that these facilities/benefits included admission to the children of Tibetan refugees in government schools, mid-day meal, free text books and uniform and any other benefits/facilities as deemed fit.
While referring to the eligibility criteria for availing these facilities/benefits, he said that the individual has resided in India for a minimum period of 182 days or more. Legality of the stay of such Tibetan refugees is ascertained and signed by the district administration of the State. He said that the individual or family members of Tibetan refugees should be in the possession of the Registration Certificate issued by the Central Tibetan Relief Committee.
The Minister said that the individual/family members of Tibetan refugees would produce a certificate containing the particulars/details like name, age, gender, location/rehabilitation camp/settlement etc. prepared from the source document that is Register, maintained by the Settlement/Welfare Officer of the Tibetan Camp/Settlement. This register shall be maintained and updated by him from time to time with the increase or decrease of the camp’s population. The local District Magistrate would be competent to inspect the register and to ensure that it is annually updated.
He said that to avoid any hardship to the children of Tibetan refugees in availing the educational benefits/facilities for want of Aadhar, Aadhar Enrollment Camp would be organized by the State Government through Education Department and District Administration in schools or near by the schools atleast twice in a year, he added.
