Mumbai – : India has reached number one in the whole world in terms of transactions through UPI. This information has come out after examining the figures. According to the data of last year i.e. 2022, compared to the year 2021, India has come ahead by leaving behind many countries of the world. According to the information, there has been an increase of up to 91 percent in the digital payment of the country. India’s digital transaction has been 89.5 million.
Beating these countries
India continues to hold on to the top position leaving Brazil, China, Thailand and South Korea in the dust. Let us tell you that once these countries used to be far ahead of India in terms of digital payments. Now their number is after India, in which Brazil is at number four with 29.2 million, China 17.6 million, Thailand 16.5 million and South Korea 8 million. Now if we look at the figures of these four countries, then India is far ahead of them.
Let us tell you that once upon a time China was at number one in terms of digital payment. In the year 2010, China’s digital payment was more than all the countries, whose transaction was 1119 million. India was at number two, which had a transaction of 370 million. Whereas, America was at number three, whose digital transaction was 153 million.
Digital payment growing rapidly in India
In the case of digital payment, there has been a lot of boom in India since 2010. After the year 2014, its speed has increased very fast. India’s digital payment graph is increasing at a very fast pace with the year 2023. On the other hand, China has lagged behind in this digital matter.
Maximum digital payment is happening in these cities
According to the report, the figures for the year 2022 show that the maximum number of digital payments in India is being done in Bengaluru. After this, the country’s capital Delhi has been on the second number. Then comes Mayanagari Mumbai’s number. According to the information, 29 million transactions worth Rs 6,500 crore were recorded in Bengaluru in the year 2022.
