India grants export approval for 14,000 tonnes of non-basmati white rice to mauritius

New Delhi : The government has given permission to export 14,000 tonnes of non-Basmati white rice to Mauritius. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has given this information by issuing a notification.

DGFT has informed that permission has been given to export 14,000 tonnes of non-Basmati white rice to Mauritius through National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL). Earlier, India had allowed export of many varieties of rice to countries like Nepal, Republic of Ghana, Philippines, Seychelles, UAE, Singapore.

At present DGFT exports rice under the Rice Export Policy. At present, rice is being exported only to those countries for which approval has been given by the government. Many other countries are requesting the Indian government to export rice citing their food security.
