On April 11, 2023, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Piyush Goyal, and Mr. Olivier Becht, Minister delegate of Foreign Trade, Attractiveness and French Nationals Abroad, Government of France, will co-chair the India France Business Summit. This summit marks the 25th anniversary of India-France friendship and will take place in France. The event will highlight various themes, including building a green future, emerging technologies, defense cooperation, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific regions.
Meeting with French Business Leaders
During his visit to France and Italy from April 11th to 13th, 2023, the Minister will meet with French business leaders across different sectors and attend a CEO’s roundtable. He will be accompanied by a delegation of top Indian CEOs. This meeting will help strengthen business relationships between India and France.
Showcasing India’s Cultural Heritage
The Minister, along with French Minister Mr. Olivier Becht, will participate in an event showcasing India’s cultural heritage and soft power. Over 600 dignitaries from the French government, the Indian Business Diaspora in France, and members of the French business community are expected to attend.
Interaction with Indian Community in Paris
During his visit to France, the Minister will interact with members of the Indian community in Paris. This interaction will help connect the Indian community in France with the Indian government and strengthen the relationship between India and France.
Meeting with Italian Dignitaries
After his visit to France, the Minister will travel to Rome, Italy, where he will meet with H.E. Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation. He will also attend a networking dinner with dignitaries from the government and industry. He is scheduled to meet top Italian CEOs for bilateral meetings, followed by a CEO’s Interactive Business Session with 35 CEOs likely to participate. This will be followed by a meeting with H.E. Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, who will also interact with Indian CEOs.
Further Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The Minister’s visit to France and Italy is expected to give further momentum to bilateral relations with India’s key business partners in the European region. The focus on various themes during the India France Business Summit will promote cooperation and collaboration between India and France on emerging technologies, building a green future, defense, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific regions.
