Mr.Pawan Kumar Bansal, Central Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, said that the increasing pollution in the Ganga was the matter of concern and the central Government  was planning to clean sacred Ganga. He said though it was the duty of the Centre and State Government to control this. The people should also be made aware about the danger of pollution.

Mr. Bansal, who launched today New Hindi & Garhwali Magazine as its first issue had highlighted this subject. The State Governments should give more attention to this issue.

He said Chandigarh had assumed a metropolitan character and people of other States living here, were always eager to their native places and also eager to know about development. He said a substantial number of people of Uttarkhand were living here and hence the new magazine, rightly said, would be bridge between people and of their native places.

He congratulated the magazine team led by Mr. Kuldeep Dhasmana, Editor of the Uttarakhand Live. Mr. Kewal Sahni, Unit head of Dainik Bhaskar, Chandigarh, presided over the function.
