In jiya abduction case the court sentenced for life term imprisonment along with 25 thousand rupees fine to accused Ravinder Singh Gill. The decision was given by the by the session judge anita chaudhary as the trial of the case has been completed on last week. The court held guilty ravinder singh gill and the decision was kept pending for today. The case had come up for hearing in the District and Session Court today. It was on October 20, 2009 when Jiya was kidnapped by Ravinder, who had come in a Honda City car and kidnapped her when the child was playing outside her house with her friends. The child was rescued when the family had paid Rs 15 lakh as ransom to the accused. On 9th may in the year 2012, charge sheet was filed against the accused on the statements given by the witnesses, Jiya’s grandfather Malkiat Singh Kang. On 24th august, 2012, in a big twist in the Jiya kidnapping case, the two main witnesses in turned hostile. Earlier, the witnesses Sheela Devi and Vishal singla had assured the police of identifying the accused, who had kidnapped Jiya, but then they said they didn’t know anything about the accused. Besides, the two witnesses, Jiya’s grandfather Malkit Singh Kang is another witness of the kidnapping. Earlier, Sheela Devi had told the police that she had seen the accused, who kidnapped Jiya and took her away in the Honda City car. Vishal Singla had said that he was waiting outside Jiya’s house when he saw the kidnapping taking place. Earlier, accused Ravinder Singh Gill murdered his father Satwant Singh Gill and was behind bars for one year. Later court acquitted him. The accused wants to live luxurious life and purchase flat in sector-20, panchkula but he sold on profit. He again purchase kothi in sector-21, again he sold the kothi and he used the whole money in the lottery. In 2002 he got married with Harwinder Kaur, who is now living in gurgaon. As he wanted to live luxuries life, he made a plan to kidnap children in pretext for ransom. Every time he picked the child and took huge amount in ransom. He also had a flat in Mumbai, where he used to live after committing crime.
