In Iran, 12 prisoners were hanged in a single day. They include 11 male and 1 female prisoner. All of them were residents of Balochistan and belonged to the Sunni community.
All of them are accused of drug smuggling or murder. Concerns of human rights organizations have increased due to the continuous hanging in Iran.
All 12 criminals were hanged in Zahedan, the main prison in Sistan-Baluchistan province. This province of Iran is adjacent to the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. PLC/GT
