Immediately start the new recruitment process of CHOs

Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma has directed to organise medical camps throughout the State from November to treat all other diseases that were affected due to covid, to start 100 Janta Clinics before the forthcoming budget, to do branding of health schemes with the word ‘Chiranjeevi’, to immediate employ 250 Community Health Officers (CHOs) who have completed bridge course and to immediately start the new recruitment process of CHOs.

Dr Sharma was presiding over a meeting of health department senior officers. In the meeting, principal secretary Shri Akhil Arora, secretary Shri Siddharth Mahajan, NHM director Shri Sudhir Sharma and other officers were present.

Facility of screening, testing and treatment will be available in medical camps

The Health Minister directed to start extensive preparations for huge medical camps to be organised across the State from November 14, on the birth anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. He said that in these medical camps, arrangements would be made for the treatment of patients suffering from all other diseases that was affected in the past due to covid. In these camps, facilities for screening and testing of various diseases, all types of vaccination will be done and if required, arrangements will also be made to ferry serious patients through ambulance to the main hospitals for necessary treatment.

100 Janta Clinics will be started before the budget
Dr Sharma reviewed in detail about the medical facilities being provided in the Janta Clinics functioning in the State. He directed to start around two dozen Janta Clinics on Gandhi Jayanti and to ensure starting of 100 Janta Clinics in the State before the forthcoming budget. He emphasised on the need of setting up Janta Clinic at a suitable place looking at the convenience of the general public. He directed to pay attention to the density of population in the concerned area, distance of government medical institutions etc while selecting the place for Janta Clinic.

3500 Additional CHOs will be recruited  
The Health Minister reviewed in detail about the medical facilities being provided by the Community Health Officers and took information about the training being imparted to them. He directed to immediately employ 350 CHOs who have completed the bridge course and start the training of selected CHOs from September 7. He also instructed to immediately start the recruitment process of approved 3500 additional CHOs looking at the medical requirements of the State.

Branding of Health Schemes with the name ‘Chiranjeevi’
Dr Sharma reviewed the progress of Mukhyamanti Chiranjeevi Bima Yojana. He directed to get digital wall painting done to publicise the Chiranjeevi scheme at all the schools in revenue villages, panchayat buildings and other government buildings and medical institutions. To increase the awareness about this scheme among the residents of the State, he has directed branding of all medical and health schemes with the word ‘Chiranjeevi’. The word Chiranjeevi will be used on ambulances, mobile vans and in health services.

A Strong system for security of patients and doctors
The Health Minister stressed on strengthening health services in the State and the expansion of basic facilities in medical institutions. He emphasised on outsourcing cleanliness, laundry services, trolley-wheel chair facility in all the medical institutions to make them better. He instructed acquiring agencies in centralised manner for a strong system of security to patients and doctors. He said that bed sheets of different colours should be used according to the days.

Directions to make Hospital Management Cadre
Dr Sharma has directed to make Hospital Management Cadre for the better management of government medical institutions in the State. Hospital Management degree holders and people associated with the army will be included in this. He also stressed on the need of getting the audit of new medical colleges and medical institutions attached to them by consultant architects. He directed to provide the facility of Central Food Court and India Rasoi in the newly built medical colleges and hospitals attached to them. He also emphasised on providing the facility of Ayurveda, homeopathy and other alternative medical systems along with allopathy under one roof at government medical institutions.

In the meeting directions were given to shift the diagnostic labs in all medical colleges in the State including SMS at one place for the convenience of the patients. Similar system should be ensured at all new medical colleges to be built in the State and hospitals attached to them. He directed the officers to ensure that the arrangement of trolleys and wheel chairs at all the government medical institutions in the State should be outsourced so that patients get proper services.

Besides this, directions have been given to strengthen the construction unit of NHM up to the block level so that operation and maintenance work could be done in a set time period at all the medical institutions in the State and provision for necessary budget should also be made for this.
