I visited Purulia District of west Bengal, for news purpose. Over there I found that illegal coal mining has been running in its optimum level at Deoli, Asandanga, Nimdanga, Hirakund, Bhamuria, Chatarkanali, Gorabari, Murulia, Bonra, Motha, Murgabani, Kuthibari, Dangajor, Madhukunda, under Neturia and Santuri Police station. These are illegal coal corridor of the coal mafia’s where they are over-extracting the illegal coal at least 2-3000 tons per day. In these areas lots of subsidences occur day to day. Due to illegal coal-mining the existence of two important ECL’s colliery Parbelia and Dubeswari are in danger. And the most disappointing fact is that within 5km of this place there is Eastern Coalfields Ltd.(Coal India Ltd.) HQ. Where CMD MR.Rakesh Sinha sits and also CISF HQ. is there and within 1 km there is Neturia and Santuri police station under Purulia Dist. of west Bengal.
What will be the fate of the area. Starting from the lowering the water level,land erosion,unprecedented lofty income, loss of revenue of the government,pollution land slide, tremendous reduction of drinking water from the ground, premature indiscriminate death,unethical power centers……etc
