IIIT-Delhi collaborates with IBM to launch a PG Diploma Course in Data Science and AI
To cater to the upskilling needs of IT professionals, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), collaborated with IBM to launch a Nine-month PG Diploma Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. An MOU was signed between IIIT-Delhi and IBM for the same on 27th Dec 2019. The program will allow students as well as professionals to gain an edge in the field of Data science and Artificial Intelligence and help in developing skills that are hard to find in the desired industry.
The volume of data available around is increasing at an enormous pace and has become a challenge for the organizations. They are bewildered on how to utilize such huge amount of data efficiently for their profits. Data Science, the science of extracting insights from the data, is the answer to this challenge. The market of Data Science and AI is likely to swell to 20 billion USD by 2025. Companies are increasingly reliant on data and are eager to hire data professionals who can make sense out of the information the business collects. This has led to an exponential growth in demand for Data Science professionals.
The Program at IIIT-Delhi aims to introduce the students and professionals to quantitative analysis of industry-scale data. They will learn these scientific approaches using the methods from a wide variety of disciplines including statistics, mathematics, algorithmic, machine learning and artificial intelligence. It will entail various industry applications and techniques for handling Big Data. The curriculum will also touch upon data preparation and processing, including working with structured, unstructured and key-value formatted data. The program will be taught by industry leaders from IBM and Faculties/Researchers from IIIT-Delhi.
The Program is commencing from 10th May 2020 at IIIT-Delhi and the classes will be conducted on weekend (Saturday). The Program is open to both working professionals and fresh Engineering graduates/ MCA /MSc /MBA and graduates in Economics/Statistics/Maths or equivalent. Exceptional students with social science, commerce, and medical science background will also be considered for the program.
