Maintaining the tempo of the ongoing ‘India Corporate Week’, the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI), under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, here today organized Essay and Slogan Writing Competition followed by a blood donation camp. The theme of the day was: ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’. ICWAI’s Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) also participated in the event.

Addressing the function Shri B. B. Goyal, Advisor (Cost), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, said that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. “Business would embrace responsibility for the impact of their activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Essentially, CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making, and the honouring of a triple bottom line: People, Planet and Profit”, said Shri Goyal
