IAS Neeraj Kumar appointed Private Secretary to Home Minister Amit Shah
Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer Neeraj Kumar Bansod has been made Private Secretary to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After the approval of the Cabinet Committee, the Central Personnel Department issued the appointment order on Thursday. Neeraj is on central deputation since August 2022.
Originally from Maharashtra, Neeraj Kumar Bansod is a 2008 batch IAS. A brilliant student since his school days, Neeraj has done BE in Production Engineering. After that he worked in the private sector. Not satisfied with that, he went to Delhi to prepare for Civil Services. In 2007, he passed the Civil Services Examination from UPSC. In that his All India rank was 88. He has served in many important districts including Bilaspur District Panchayat CEO, Sukma Collector, Janjgir-Champa Collector as IAS. In 2022, he was appointed as Director in the Central Secretariat on central deputation. Seven months later, he has got a challenging responsibility as Private Secretary to the Union Home Minister.
Order after approval of ACC
IAS Neeraj Bansod has been given this responsibility after the approval of ACC. In fact, the ACC i.e. the selection committee of the Union Cabinet itself had stamped his name in two points, in which it has been said that under the Neeraj Central Staffing Scheme, the director’s tenure is curtailed. Along with this, he is appointed as the personal secretary of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The name was sent for the Prime Minister’s Award
IAS Neeraj Bansod belongs to 2008 batch and originally hails from Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. In the year 2007, his overall rank in UPSC exam was 88. While holding many big positions in Chhattisgarh, he came into limelight when he did a better job as Sukma collector. For this, his name was sent for the Prime Minister’s Award. Bhoramdev festival was organized during his stay as collector in Kawardha. Then after 10 years big planning was organized due to which the name of IAS Neeraj Bansod once again emerged.
