India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj has said that the humanitarian crisis is deepening due to the Israel-Hamas war and this is not acceptable at all. A resolution has been introduced in the United Nations Security Council, demanding a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the month of Ramadan. India has supported this proposal and said that it is a positive step.

During the discussion on the resolution, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj said that we are extremely concerned about the ongoing war in Gaza. This is increasing the humanitarian crisis in the region and causing instability in the entire region. He said that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in massive loss of lives, especially of women and children. The humanitarian crisis is unacceptable. Kamboj said that New Delhi strongly condemns the deaths of civilians in the conflict and it is extremely difficult to save lives of people in any conflict.

On March 25, a resolution was brought in the United Nations Security Council demanding a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The resolution also demanded the release of all hostages, as well as the delivery of medicines and other humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza. Almost six months have passed since the Israel-Hamas war and if there is a ceasefire between the two sides, it will be very important.
