The members of Medical Officers Association (HMOA) calling on Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh at Shimla on 6 Feb 2017.
The Himachal Pradesh Medical Officers Association (HMOA) has called off the strike after assurance from the Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh for sympathetic consideration of their demands.
The Association after discussing the matter in a meeting with Chief Secretary Shri V.C. Pharka called on the Chief Minister, here today.
He said that the demands of the doctors regarding action on those mounting any attacks or assault on them during duty hours to be made a cognizable offence, would be tabled in the upcoming Assembly session. He said that a law could be enacted in this regard.
The Chief Minister also assured to table the demand of 4-9-14 in the Cabinet.
He also assured them that the promotion of Block Medical Officers, (BMO) would be done in a time bound manner and gave directions to look into the demand of residences for Resident doctors.
The Chief Minister also assured to look into their other demands sympathetically.
The Doctors led by their patron, Dr. Baldev Thakur, State President Dr. Jeeva Nand Chauhan, General Secretary Dr. Pushpinder Verma gave a call to end the strike immediately.
They also thanked the Chief Secretary for taking up their demands with the Chief Minister in a positive manner.
