Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, said that Hinduism is a way of life which teaches how to lead a disciplined life filled with nationalism. He was addressing the book release ceremony organized at Bachat Bhawan here today to unveil ‘Rashtriya Chetna Ki Chunouti’ authored by Dr. Kuldeep Agnihotri, a noted author and brought out by Himachal Research Institute.
Chief Minister said that right thinking people could contribute a lot to instill a sense of nationalism amongst people. He said that spirit of nationalism had to be inculcated among all sections of the society so that the nation was saved of external and internal forces. He said that some vested interests had been making attempts to divide society in the name of religion, caste, creed and region which had to be checked in the true spirit of nationalism.
Prof. Dhumal said that India happens to be the largest democracy of the world where people from different walks of life live in a harmonious manner. He said that India was an unique example of unity in diversity.
He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Kuldeep Agnihotri for bringing out a book on such an important subject and draw attention of the right minded people to debate and deliberate upon the vital subject of nationalism. He said that Dr. Agnihotri had always been propogating the true spirit of nationalism by inviting participation from people from all walks of life.
Dr. A.D.N.Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor said that there was dire necessity to create mass awareness about the nationalism through all channels available. He said that intellectually Indian had never been bonded by any ideology. He said that it was time to carry introspection and start sensitizing the society about the true spirit of nationalism. He congratulated Dr. Kuldeep Agnihotri for putting the words in a most simple mode to invite debate on the issue of nationalism.
Dr. Kuldeep Agnihotri, author of the book, detailed contents of the book and said that the nationalism was being attacked from different directions and attempts being made to divide the society.
Prof. Suresh Kumar Garg, welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for releasing the publicartion.
