Shimla : The Political turmoil continues in Himachal Pradesh. After the defeat of Congress on a seat in the Rajya Sabha elections in Himachal, preparations are being made to change the CM, so that the angry MLAs can be brought back. After this, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is removed. Then there is speculation that two-four names from the party will be made CM as his alternative. In this, the name of senior leader Pratibha Singh is also included in the list.

Let us tell you that senior Congress leader Pratibha Singh is the wife of Virbhadra Singh, the late leader had been the Chief Minister of the state six times. Pratibha Singh was active in politics since 1998. He contested his first election from Mandi parliamentary constituency of Himachal. In which he had to face defeat. After this, he tried his luck again in the Lok Sabha elections in 2004. Then in the year 2012, her husband Virbhadra Singh resigned from the Lok Sabha after becoming the Chief Minister. Due to which by-elections were held in the year 2013. In this, Pratibha Singh entered the political field and defeated Jairam Thakur.

Lok Sabha elections were held in the year 2014. In this, in the Modi wave, BJP’s Ram Swaroop Sharma defeated Pratibha Singh by more than 39 thousand votes. There was a Congress government in the state then. Everyone was stunned by Pratibha’s defeat. In 2021, after almost seven years, Pratibha Singh again entered the electoral arena and won. On April 26, 2022, the high command had made Pratibha Singh the 32nd president of Himachal Pradesh Congress.

Pratibha was born on 16 June 1956 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Pratibha Singh was married to Virbhadra Singh in the year 1985. She is his second wife. Virbhadra Singh’s daughter from his first marriage, Abhilasha Kumari, has worked as a judge in Gujarat. Virbhadra Singh’s son from his second marriage to Pratibha Singh, Vikramaditya Singh, has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Shimla Rural constituency.
