Hero Honda Company to set up its Unit in Himachal Pradesh

Industries Minister Shri Kishan Kapoor said here today that the Hero Honda Company was planning to establish its manufacturing unit in Himachal Pradesh which will be its 4th manufacturing unit. The company sent a proposal to the state government in this regard and requested to provide 2000 bighas of land in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area in the state.

Industries Minister said that Hero Honda Company has shown interest to establish its 4th unit in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area. Other three manufacturing units of the company were located at Gurgaon, Dharuhera and Haridwar. He said that the company has chosen Himachal Pradesh from among the 10 states and proposed to establish its unit in Baddi as it was emerging as an important industrial area of the State and was well connected with all the important markets of India.

Memorandum of Understanding on Land lease was also recently signed by the Nestle India limited to establish its manufacturing plant in Tahliwal industrial area of Una district.

Shri Kishan Kapoor said that the Nestle India Ltd. would established its Food Processing Unit on 250 Bighas of Land and will invest about 400 Crore in it. He said that it was only due to the efforts of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister that the Company was establishing its Unit in Himachal Pradesh. This will also encourage other companies to establish their Food Processing Units in the State.

Shri Kapoor said that due to the sustained efforts of the State Government many big Industrial Houses had proposed to establish their Industrial houses in the State in the past 34 months and many large Industries had been set up in the State. Investment friendly environment, better law and order, uninterrupted supply of electricity, water and other facilities being provided by the State Government were some of the reasons which was ensuring Industrial growth in the State. State government had also established a Land Bank in the State to facilitate the Industrial development. Government had identified 2000 bighas of land to set up big projects in Dabhota, 500 bigha land was identified in Kashmirpura Brahmana for IT and Electronic Industrial Park, 934 bigha land in Manjholi for Textile and Food Park and 750 bigha land in Palasara for setting up Micro, small and medium units.

Industries Minister said that Solan and Una Districts of the State have emerged as important Industrial areas of the State. He said that Government was also striving hard to provide land for setting up of Industries in Kangra District.
