Haryana Home, Health and AYUSH Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has said that 75 crore Surya-Namaskar program are being organized under the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” being celebrated to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Independence Day. Haryana Police officials including Asha workers of Health Department will also participate in this and a letter has been written in this regard to the Director General of Police and Mission Director today. Apart from this, he said that a letter would also be written to the Chief Secretary for other employees of the State Government to participate in the Surya Namaskar programme.
 
Sh. Vij said that training has been given to the personnel of Education Department and Ayush Department and now police personnel and ASHA workers will be included in this, in which they will be given three days training through Yoga-Ayog trainers. Similarly, he said that the virtual training will also be done and instructions have also been given to the Chairman of Haryana Yog Aayog to create a virtual link so that people can do Surya Namaskar at the scheduled time every day.

The AYUSH Minister said that Haryana is leading the way in terms of registration in Surya Namaskar program in North India so far and 2350 institutions of the state have got themselves registered now, whereas Haryana is in second in the whole country in terms of registration of institutions after Maharashtra.
 
Surya Namaskar will be done on a Mega scale across the country on the coming 26th January – Vij
 
He said that this program started on 3rd January and will continue till 20th February, out of which Surya Namaskar will be done for 21 days. He said that on the coming January 26, 2022 Surya Namaskar would be performed on a Mega scale across the country and in this episode all CBSE affiliated schools would participate in it. Similarly, work will be done to make world record in the case of Surya Namaskar on 7th February and on 12th February 75 crore Surya Namaskars will be completed and on 20th February this program will concluded.

He said that instructions have been issued to all concerned officers like DG Police, DG Jail and Commandant General Home Guard under Home Department to ensure maximum participation in 75 crore Surya Namaskar program by registering on www.75suryanamskar.com. The first step is the registration of all the employees of the Home Department on the website www.75suryanamskar.com. The second step is to train the police officers in Surya Namaskar for three days by the yoga instructor so that they can train the master trainer of the police department. The third step is the practice of Surya Namaskar for 21 days.
 
Surya Namaskar Yoga improves immunity and increases vitality-Vij
He informed that Surya Namaskar is the core of Yoga and it is scientifically proven to improve immunity and increase vitality which are all essential for health during the ongoing pandemic. Surya Namaskar improves overall body strength, builds stamina and develops flexibility which will be beneficial for police officers. This program will prove to be a milestone in creating awareness among the people about the potential health benefits of Surya Namaskar.
 
Haryana Yog Aayog Chairman Jaideep Arya informed that the Ministry of AYUSH has launched 75 crore Surya Namaskar programs on Monday, January 3, 2022, with the objective of creating a culture of fitness and promoting healthy lifestyle through the practice of Yogasana. The 75 crore Surya Namaskar program is being organized in the country by Patanjali Yogpeeth, Geeta Parivar, Heartfulness Meditation, Kreeda Bharti and National Yogasan Sports Federation. Haryana Yog Aayog is the official organizer of this historic event.
 
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, The Ministry of AYUSH has created history for performing more than 1 crore Surya Namaskars globally on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. More than 4 lakh students including over 1 lakh yoga enthusiasts from various organizations have participated in the event. Haryana Yog Aayog also celebrated the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2022 with the enthusiastic participation of volunteers, yoga enthusiasts, staff members in 75 lakh Surya Namaskar.

It is a global event where the organizers have set a target of achieving 75 crore Surya Namaskar and each participant will receive 12 step Surya Namaskars 13 times a day for 21 days within a period of 48 days from January 03, 2022 to February 20, 2022. So far, 82591 institutions, 3573994 students of 36 states/UTs have performed 324999311 Surya Namaskars across the country.
