The 47th Haryana Day was celebrated with gaiety at Haryana Raj Bhawan, here today. A colourful cultural programme including Haryanavi and Rajasthani folk dances, Punjab’s Bhangra and Uttar Pradesh’s ‘Phoolon Ki Holi’ were performed by the artistes who regaled the audience with their scintillating performance. The artistes of ‘Phoolon Ki Holi’ made the Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda to join them on the stage. Impressed by the  performance of the artistes, the Governor announced to give them a reward of Rs three lakh. Earlier, the celebrations were inaugurated by the Governor, Mr Jagannath Pahadia, Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr Kuldeep Sharma, Chief Secretary, Mr P. K. Chaudhery and wife of Mr Pahadia, Mrs Shanti Pahadia by lighting a traditional lamp. Those present on the occasion included President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Phool Chand Mullana, Education Minister, Mrs Geeta Bhukkal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Chhatar Singh, Lokayukta, Mr Pritam Pal, senior officers of the State Government and a number of distinguished personalities. Later on, while talking to media-persons, Mr Hooda greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Haryana Day. He said that Haryana has made tremendous progress since its inception and today, it ranks at the top in the country in per capita investment, per capita income and economic growth rate as well as a productivity of wheat.
