Gujarat assembly elections: Congress to discuss candidates in Delhi
The dates for the Gujarat Assembly elections can be announced next week and before that the BJP and Congress are busy in the exercise of deciding their candidates. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has so far announced more than 70 candidates. Congress’s Central Election Committee meeting will be held in Delhi on Wednesday.
In which Gujarat Congress chief Jagdish Thakor, in-charge Raghu Sharma and other state Congress leaders will be present. Mallikarjuna will take over as the new president of the Congress on Wednesday itself and after that, there will be a discussion about the candidates for the Gujarat elections under his chairmanship. The names of the candidates for the Gujarat elections can be stamped in the Central Election Committee of the Congress to be held at 4 pm on Wednesday.
In Gujarat, out of power for the last three decades, the Congress makes a strategy of victory every time, but it does not get success. With the Aam Aadmi Party entering the fray in the upcoming elections, there is bound to be a triangular contest in the Gujarat elections. Aam Aadmi Party claims that it will have a direct fight with BJP.
Congress is nowhere to be seen in the election. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised his workers not to take Congress lightly. It was also said that Congress is very active about the elections and it is also working continuously on the ground. PLC/GT
