Govt. committed towards rehabilitation of the Pong Dam oustees: Thakur

download (3)INVC NEWS New Delhi, Health & Family Welfare and Revenue Minister Shri Kaul Singh Thakur said that the State Government was committed towards the welfare of the oustees of Pong Dam and was making all efforts for their rehabilitation. He was speaking in a meeting with Home Minister of Rajasthan Shri Gulab Singh Kataria and Revenue Minister Shri Asha Ram Chaudhary at Rajasthan Secretariat at Jaipur, today. Agriculture Minister Shri Sujan Singh Pathania also accompanied the Revenue Minister. Shri Thakur said that due to the concerted efforts of the Himachal Pradesh Government, as many as 577 ‘Murabas’ had been allotted during 2015 where as 250 Murabas were allotted in the year 2016 to the oustees in Sriganga Nagar, Surat Garh, Anupgarh, Garhsana etc. Ministers of Rajasthan Government informed in the meeting that the land had already been identified for 800 ‘Murabas’, which was a Government reserved land and the same would soon be de-reserved and allotted to the eligible oustees for which the necessary codal formalities would be completed within next six months. Shri Kaul Singh Thakur said the rehabilitation of 827 oustees was the major achievement of HP Government for which the affected families had been struggling for last 30 years. Appreciating the good gestures of Rajasthan Government, Shri Thakur said that a consensus was arrived in the meeting to give an opportunity to those oustees who did not apply for land due to one or other reason. He said that necessary directions had been given to the Deputy Commissioner (Relief & Rehabilitation) Nurpur to expedite the process. Shri Thakur said that Himachal Government had been requesting time and again to the Rajasthan Government for providing 2.25 lakh acre land for which Rajasthan Government has now agreed in principle. Revenue Minster said that a meeting would be held in Shimla in the month of October, 2016 to chalk out strategy for implementing the decisions taken in the meeting between both the States. He said that they would be meeting the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in this regard tomorrow.
