These documents include the Corporate Identification Number (CIN), business license, Aadhar or passport details, PAN (Permanent Account Number), and Goods and Services Tax Registration Certificate. In cases where the POS lacks certain documents, they must provide an affidavit and subsequently submit the required documentation as soon as it becomes available.

When purchasing a new SIM card or seeking a replacement for a lost or damaged card, consumers will now undergo a meticulous verification process akin to acquiring a new SIM card. Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently revealed that over 66,000 fraudulent WhatsApp accounts have been blocked. Additionally, the authorities have blacklisted 67,000 SIM card dealers, initiated 300 First Information Reports (FIRs) against fraudsters, and deactivated a staggering 52 lakh phone connections. To further tighten the noose on fraudulent activities, approximately 8 lakh bank wallet accounts, often used by fraudsters, have been frozen.
