Alphabet Inc-owned Google has entered into an agreement with the Election Commission to prevent the spread of false information during the upcoming elections. Google India said in a blog post that its products have been equipped with features to enhance official information on various election-related topics. Google said that we are collaborating to help people find important information about voting in English and Hindi on Google Search.

This information includes how to register and vote. With more people using artificial intelligence (AI), Google said it is building processes that will help users identify artificial intelligence content. “As more advertisers take advantage of the power and opportunity of AI, we want to make sure we continue to provide people with the information they need to make informed decisions, with greater transparency and all the information on the subject,” it said.

Google said that our advertising policies already prohibit the use of misleading deepfakes or manipulated content. Google has set strict policies and restrictions on who can run election-related ads on its platforms. These include verification, authentication and authorization of identity by the Election Commission.
