‘#GoKeralaTravellers’ Meet up’concludes on a high note

Offered a hand crafted, all-expense paid trip to 5 lucky couples in God’s Own Country

The Tourism Department of Kerala organized ‘#GoKeralaTravellers’ Meet up’in association with in Kovalam today. Organized as a grand culmination of the unique initiative- #GoKerala; Dr. Venu V, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala and Mr. P. Bala Kiran, Director, Kerala Tourism and Managing Director, Kannur International Airportgraced the occasion with their esteemed presence.

Last month, the tourism department of Kerala launched a unique marketing campaign#GoKeralain association with HolidayIQto promote state tourism.Under this campaign, five lucky couples from Delhi, Mumbai and Gujaratwon a 10 days, all-expense paid trip to Kerala for visiting pristine destinations of Kerala. The travelers began the #GoKerala journey from Kasargod and completed the trip in Thiruvananthapuram.

At the event, the travellers shared their experience and amusing storieson various aspects of Kerala Tourism. Kerala Tourism andHolidayIQ specially curated the travel itinerary to showcase the picturesque beauty of Kerala, going beyond its backwaters and honeymoon destinations.

Highlighting the objective of the initiative undertaken, Dr. Venu V, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala stated,“The continuous endeavors of Kerala Tourism have resulted in accelerating the growth of state tourism. Kerala has immense tourism potential, which is yet to be explored by the travel enthusiasts.The sole objective of this unique initiative was to promote the unexplored destinations of Kerala and position Kerala as a family holiday destination across the globe.”

#GoKeralacampaignwas a content led, multiple platform campaign with a dedicated microsite, integrated touchpoints and targeted reach. The campaign received an overwhelming response from travellers across the country, looking for the perfect destination to holiday this winter season. The experiential campaign, unlike traditional marketing campaigns, is completely powered by the holiday experiences and reviews of authentic travellersacross the country.

Speaking about the campaign,Mr. P. Bala Kiran, IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism and Managing Director, Kannur International Airport Said,“The tourism department has always been keen on planning and executing new and innovative marketing campaigns with the aim of positioning Kerala as one of the top tourist destinations in India. The campaign offered the vacationers a great opportunity to unleash their travellers’ spirit, while promoting the state tourism and showcasing diversified products and services that Kerala Tourism offers.”

The #GoKerala campaign reached out to 10 million users with 3500 entries for the contest. Five lucky couples got an opportunity to visit ten scenic and pristine destinations of Kerala between November 11th – 20th 2017, covering 23 key attractions of ‘God’s Own Country’. From Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram, the travellers visited Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Kochi, Alappuzha, Kollam and Kovalam. The organizers received 3000 pictures as well as 650 reviews/stories in the form of video and text.
