Global IME Bank has formally inaugurated its Representative Office at Arunanchal Building, Barakhamba Road, Connaught Place, New Delhi, India on April 20, 2016. Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Mr. Narayan Prasad Poudel and General Manager of Reserve Bank of India Mr. K.B. Pandit jointly inaugurated the office today.
Chairman of the Bank Mr. Chandra Prasad Dhakal, CEO Mr. Anil Gyawali along with delegates from the Nepalese Embassy in Delhi were also present in the inauguration ceremony.
Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Mr. Narayan Prasad Poudel and General Manager of Reserve Bank of India Mr. K. B. Pandit congratulated Global IME Bank for opening a Representative Office at India.
Talking in the event, Chairman of the bank Mr. Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that opening a Representative Office at India will be a support in Export/Import Business, Remittance and Foreign Investment. He also mentioned that Global IME Bank is the first commercial bank to open its two International level Representative Office in Australia and India. Mr. Dhakal also added that opening an office in India will bring new arenas for the development of economy of Nepal. Mr. Dhakal also mentioned that, the bank is working on to facilitate payment of bills at hospitals in India, on which Nepalese nationals are facing difficulties at present.
CEO of the bank, Mr. Anil Gyawali said that India being the prime hub for International business and opening a Representative office here will be support in Import/Export business. He also said that with the high presence of Nepali people residing in India, opening the Representative office will play vital role in supporting Remittance inflow from India through proper channel.
The Representative Office of Global IME Bank in India will focus on supporting the Indian business personnel regarding the business and foreign investment between Nepal and India. Similarly, it will be providing banking as well as Remittance service to the Nepali people residing in India for different purpose.
Global IME Bank has been providing similar services from its first Representative Office in Sydney, Australia. The Bank is in process to taking approval from few other countries to open Representative office after attaining the approval from Nepal Rastra Bank.
