Gautam Adani Group starts operations of its first copper plant in Mundra

Ahmedabad :  Gautam Adani Group, one of the largest business houses of the country, has taken forward its business expansion and announced that the Group has started operation of its first copper plant in Mundra, Gujarat.

Adani Enterprises is setting up a 10 lakh tonne capacity plant in two phases. There will be an investment of about $1.2 billion in the first phase. This marks the debut of Adani Group in the metal industry. The company said the successful progress of the greenfield unit reflects the group’s ability to plan and execute large-scale projects.

According to the news, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said that with the start of operation of Kutch Copper (copper plant), Adani Group is not only entering the metal sector, but is also taking India towards a sustainable and self-reliant future. Is. Gautam Adani said that our pace of completing this ambitious, mega-sized project underlines our commitment to make India a leader in the global copper sector. We believe that the domestic copper industry will play a vital role in achieving our country’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2070 by strengthening our green infrastructure with mature environmental management.

Adani said that once the plant becomes operational, our modern smelter will set new standards in copper production, with greater emphasis on new green technologies. Kutch Copper Phase II, upon completion, will be the world’s largest single-location ‘custom smelter’, with a capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum. This is going to create 2,000 direct and 5,000 indirect employment opportunities.
