Former US President Donald Trump will be formally indicted for allegedly paying a porn star just before the 2016 presidential election. Talking to the media, the spokesperson of the court said that Donald Trump will be heard in the court on April 4 in the afternoon. Donald Trump’s lawyer says he will not be handcuffed when he appears in court in New York next week.

Most Republicans in the GOP, from former Vice President Mike Pence to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, have been on the receiving end of severe and harsh criticism by Trump, however, who call the jury-sealed indictment political harassment. Condemning him as Trump and his son Eric, the vice president of Trump Businesses, have called the indictment a political witch-hunt. Media reports say most GOP members feel the impeachment will brighten Trump’s dim prospects for the nomination in the 2024 presidential primary.

Media reports that the indictment of Trump by a Manhattan grand jury will set in motion the criminal process, which will act like any other defendant in some ways and look very different in other ways. In the US, when a person is indicted, the charges are sometimes kept under seal until the defendant makes his first appearance in court. The charges against the former president, currently voted for indictment and trial by a New York grand jury, are kept in a sealed envelope and kept secret, although 30 minutes of testimony has been leaked.
