The Special Judge, CBI Cases Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) has convicted Shri Surendra Kumar, then Manager, and Shri Mahendra Pal, then Junior Superintendent, both of Central Warehousing Corporation, Base Depot, Bamanheri, Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) in a bribery case and sentenced them to undergo Five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2,00,000/- each.

The investigation revealed that Shri Surendra Kumar, Manager, and Shri Mahendra Pal, Jr.Supdt. both of Central Warehousing Corporation, Base Depot, Bamanheri, Muzaffarnagar (U.P) had demanded and accepted Rs.1,00,000/- and Rs.50,000/- respectively from the Complainant, (a representative of the Handling and Transport Contractor at Base Depot of CWC at Bamenheri, Muzaffarnagar), for releasing the pending bills of the Contractor which were to the tune of Rs.117 Lakhs. Both the accused were caught red handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs.1,00,000/- and Rs.50,000/- respectively from the complainant.

After investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
