FC should lend its support to Rajasthan in getting detailed studies specifically in terms of water management : Ashok Gehlot

ashok gehlotINVC,, Jaipur,, A delegation from International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group led by CEO Shri Jin –Yong Cai and Vice President, Asia-Pacific Ms. Karin Finkelston met Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot at his residence on Wednesday. The Chief Minister during the meeting said IFC should lend its support to Rajasthan in getting detailed studies specifically in terms of water management, its conservation and rain water harvesting with the assistance of the best experts from the world. He said IFC should work on finding a long term solution through a detailed study to come up with affordable solutions for the water problem in the State especially for Jodhpur which is facing the proble of rising water level. IFC was also requested to focus on financing upcoming big entrepreneurs in the State.  Shri Gehlot and IFC CEO discussed in detail about the Cooperation Agreement which was signed by Industries Department, Govt. of Rajasthan with IFC (Knowledge Partners) in September 2010 for improving the industrial and investment climate of the State. They expressed their satisfaction at the progress made by the Knowledge Partnership in the last 2 years in the areas of statutory reforms and improvement in the investment climate to increase private investment opportunities in the State.  IFC delegation informed Shri Gehlot that IFC has in recent years invested in companies like as Cairn India, Inox Rajasthan, Green Infra Ltd, Mahindra Solar, AU Financier and Jaipur Rugs in Rajasthan. Industry Minister Shri Rajendra Pareek during the meeting discussed the issues relating to Ceramic sector and recent discovery of Gas in the State.  Additional Chief Secretary (Industry) Shri Sunil Arora, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Govind Shrama, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Shreemat Pandey, Secretary to CM Shri Rajat Mishra, Commissioner Investment Shri Siddharth Mahajan and representatives of IFC were present during the meeting.
