Facebook Love Story: Tuition teacher became a victim of fraud

Bhilai :  After a dispute with her husband, a woman teaching tuition living alone in Urla became a victim of fraud by befriending her on Facebook. He befriended a person on Facebook. The accused told that he lives in UK and offered to send some gifts to her. Which the woman accepted him. Even after cheating the woman, the accused were threatening her. After which the woman has complained about this in Mohan Nagar police station. At present, the police have started investigation by registering an FIR against the accused under the section of cheating.

Police said that a 34-year-old woman resident of Urla has complained about the incident. She is facing a divorce case after a dispute with her husband. A few months ago, he had received a friend request on Facebook from a person named Rahul Khanna. The woman accepted him. After which chatting started between the two. The person, allegedly named Rahul Khanna, told the woman that he lives in the UK. He first proposed friendship and then love to the woman. After this, the accused asked to send him a gift. Four days after this, the woman got a call. Talking on which the accused described themselves as the Custom Officer of Delhi Airport.

The accused told about a parcel coming in his name at Delhi airport and containing diamonds and gold jewellery. Along with this, it was also said that before sending the said jewelry to India, its custom duty has not been deposited. The accused threatened to arrest by filing an FIR on charges of evasion of custom duty. Fearing this, the woman deposited a total of three lakh 80 thousand rupees in the accounts mentioned by the accused between May 12 and 19. Even after this, the accused were threatening him. After this the woman complained in Mohan Nagar police station. On the basis of which the police have started their search by registering an FIR against the accused.
