The five- day Himvant Kavi Chander Kunwar Bartwal, Khadi, Gramudyog and Tourism Shardoutsav held at Pokhri concluded with cultural programmes. The local school students and artists of Gopinath Kala Sangam presented the cultural programme.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in the concluding function of the five –day Himvant Kavi Chander Kunwar Bartwal, Khadi, Gramudyog and Tourism Shardoutsav.

In his address, he said that to stop the damage to forest wealth by ‘Pirul’ and to provide employment in the hills through ‘Pirul’, an initiative to generate power through ‘Pirul’ has been initiated. He said that there is a possibility of generation of 150 MW of power using this eco-friendly fuel through this policy.

Chief minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state government has taken a number of steps to mitigate the health problems of people living in far off places. The entire 22 lakh 50 thousand families in the state will get health insurance cover of Rs. Five lakh per annum and all the families will be linked with the scheme by December 25.  He informed that to provide health services to the people in the far off places in the state, air ambulance service will be started in the state from January 26, 2019.  He said that the state government is trying to reach out to the weaker sections of the society. He further said that every possible effort is being made to take Uttarakhand to the height of development and work to implement projects on the ground has been going on.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Government of India has given the Rishikesh-Karanprayag rail project to Uttarakhand which would benefit the people. This will help boost tourism with more tourists coming to Uttarakhand providing employment to local people. The work on All Weather road has also been going on.

The poor people are being provided LPG gas connections under ‘Ujjawala’ scheme and work to give free power connections under ‘Saubhagya’ scheme is also going on. .

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat announced a grant of Rs two lakh for the mela organization, Rs. 50 Lakh for Nandprayag Nagar panchayat, starting of B-Pharma course at Pokhri, building of science block in the degree college, reconstruction of Pokhri PWD guest house, construction of Pokhri-Chopra motor road, concretization of Udamanda Road, approval of four kilometer Harishanker-Kelab road, approval of Gairpul to Gairgoan road and approval of  Vankhuri Thala bend to link Maunkhal. Apart of this on the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister during ‘Gauchar mela’ by Nagar panchayat chief, Chief Minister announced that grant of money for construction of drains in Nagar panchayat Pokhri, repair of roads and management of garbage has been given.

Local Legislator Mahender Bhatt thanked the Chief Minister said that tender process of all the roads in the area has been done and work will start spoon on these roads improving the traffic system. He said that he is making efforts for the development of the area. Mohan Prasad Thapliyal, BJP district chief, former District Chief Harak Singh Negi, Nagar Panchayat Chief Himani Vaishnav, MP representative Virender Bhandari, district magistrate Swati Bhaduria, SP Tripti Bhatt, public representatives and large number of general public were present on the occasion.
