Ensure effectiveness of National Health Programme : Kaul Singh Thakur
INVC NEWS Shimla, Kaul Singh Thakur presided over a Review Meeting of all the National Health Programmes of the department organized at the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, here last evening . During the meeting progress made under various National Health Programmes was discussed in detail. The Minister appreciated all indicators in the health sector which were better as compared to National levels. He stressed on ensuring implementation of all the programmes with proper coordination. The Minister said that the Government was committed to provide better health facilities to each and every person of the State. He further informed that the Government has notified 66 drugs and consumables which were being provided free of cost in all health institutions. He said that all doctors should prescribe these notified drugs to the patients, failing which action can be initiated against the defaulters. Shri Kaul Singh Thakur directed all the Chief Medical Officers to release the incentives of ASHA workers in time. The government has recently introduced Toll Free number 104 which provides Public Grievance Redressal facility as well as Counseling Services. The Government has introduced a system of collecting data regarding mother and child deaths on this toll free number through ASHA workers for which they were being given incentives so that each death may be recorded for calculating Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). The Additional Chief Secretary Health, Shri Vineet Chaudhary also stressed upon better implementation of all the national programmers and Government schemes. He directed the CMOs to play a more proactive role in delivery of health services. Shri H.R. Sharma, Mission Director NJM, Dr. Baldev Thakur Director Health services, Shri Raman Sharma Director Health Safety and Regulations and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
