ED seizes Rs 14.53 crore from a cryptocurrency wallet of Aamir Khan

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing mobile gaming app E-Nuggets in a fraud case, on Friday said its officials have frozen additional cryptocurrency worth Rs 47.74 lakh in the case. With this fresh seizure, the total amount seized by both the ED and Kolkata Police has gone up to around Rs 75.18 crore.

The confiscation process began on September 10, when the ED seized cash worth Rs 17.32 crore from the house of Naseer Khan, father of prime accused in the case, Aamir Khan at Shahi Stables Lane in Garden Reach area of ​​the city. In the second seizure, late evening of September 28, Kolkata Police arrested Soma Naskar (28), who used to rent her personal bank account to Amir Khan to collect the proceeds of the transaction of the app. Had gone.

On September 29, Kolkata Police seized Rs 14.53 crore from a cryptocurrency wallet belonging to Aamir Khan. The same evening, the ED seized bitcoin worth Rs 12.73 crore, which was deposited in the cryptocurrency wallet of a local businessman.

On 24 September, a Kolkata Police team arrested Aamir Khan from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and on the same day a trial court in Kolkata sent him to 14 days police custody. PLC/GT
